JEAN-FRANÇOIS MARRAS, TENOR - Opera

Tenor Jean-François Marras Born in Ajaccio, Jean-François Marras began music at age 14 with the traditional Corsican singing and the guitar. At the age of 16, he turns to the lyrical singing and began to study with the baritone Jean-Paul Grisoni, then

with Jean-Marc Bouget since 2017. In 2008, he entered the Conservatory of the 12th arrondissement of Paris, in the

class of Didier Henry in singing and Carole Bergen in drama. In October 2013, he joined the class of Chantal Mathias at the National Conservatory superior of music and dance in Paris, and in 2014 in the class of Isabelle Guillaud.

During his training, he sang Bénédict (Béatrice et Bénédict), Nadir (Les Pearl Fishers), the Knight of La Force (Dialogues des Carmélites), the Prince Charming (Cinderella). On stage, he is also Hoffmann (Les Tales of Hoffmann) and Alfredo (La Traviata).

He sings the solo tenor parts of the Requiems by Verdi and Mozart under the conducted by Fayçal Karoui with the Orchester de Pau Pays de Béarn. Jean-François Marras joins the Academy of the Opéra national de Paris in September 2016.

He interprets the roles of Lechmere (Owen Wingrave of Britten), Momus and Lycurgue (Feasts of Hébé by Rameau), and Der Dichter (Reigen by Boesmans).
